Publication of the translation in Greek (by L. Collas and M.Politis) from the handwritten original in French of Field Marshal Schulenburg’s diary for 1716, describing in detail the events before, during and after the siege of Corfu by the Ottomans and its happy end.
The translation was made possible thanks to the kind entrusting to the organizers of the original diary by the owner at the time, Field Marshal’s heir, London based Mr. Fritz von der Schulenburg for the preparation and the duration of the commemorative events of August 2016.
The publication’s first presentation took place at the Corfu Reading Society in May 2016. It was repeated in Athens, at the Old Parliament’s main hall, in February 2018.
