Κέρκυρα, Σταυροδρόμι προσφύγωνToday's event marks the 15th anniversary of our association, and is dedicated to the two centuries of presence and coexistence of the Maltese in Corfu.

The Corfiot Albert Cohen spent most of his time working for the League of Nations and later the United Nations in Geneva to support the rights of refugees and migrants. This eventually became a resolution of the United Nations in 1952.

The arrival of the Maltese in Corfu dates back to 1815, a transfer which was made by decision of the British Commissioner of the time.

Since then, the Maltese have coexisted with the Corfiots as one people. Over these two centuries they have offered their knowledge and work to Corfu.

Their knowledge in architecture, music, culture and agriculture has contributed greatly to this place.

The building in which the event "Maltese of Corfu, 200 years" took place is a result of Maltese craftsmanship and the materials with which it was constructed were transported from Malta.

The Albert Cohen Association of Corfu wants to thank from the depths of our hearts the people who helped us to create this album which will remain a clear example of the Corfiot - Maltese friendship.
